MYANMAR—Dear Partners,

May I say again how thankful I am for your partnership. Because of both your financial and prayer support, we could have such a precious ministry here in Myanmar. The need is great, few laborers. No freedom of witnessing and worship. Our missionaries often face heartbreak from the authorities. Every day we pray for God’s protection and divine wisdom to handle the ministry. Thanks for your heart for us. May I highlight our ministry.

CHURCH PLANTING AND MISSIONARY MOVEMENT:

Four students go to that church every Saturday after noon and Sunday morning for preaching and teaching children in Sunday School. We do need four good bicycles for this outreach. At that community, there are about 1,000 houses, unreached people. At this small outreach church, there are 20–27 in attendance. The village authorities have been trying to trouble us, but so far the Lord protects us. $180 will buy one good bicycle.

Aug. 14–16: One of our missionaries conducted three days of Bible teaching at a small church that is 101 years old. There were 31 people who attended faithfully at the training. All of them were called Christians. But all of them were not born again. When he started teaching on how to be saved, they all said now only we know the way of salvation. They accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord. How dangerous traditional Christianity is. We thank God for that.

Aug. 20–22: Another church is a result of Cyclone Nargis. There are about 800 houses at that village. This is the only church. There are 16–21 in attendance on Sundays. We planned to conduct a three-day salvation teaching class for non-Christians. We collected some money and we planned to provide food for the three days. On the first day, 28 people came to hear the gospel. We thank God for that. However, Satan got angry and a man who lives beside the house church building reported us to the authorities. And three police and other four authorities came to us and stopped us. We stopped conducting the Bible teaching. They told our missionaries not to worship at this church any longer. This greatly saddens us.

BIBLE COLLEGE MINISTRY

Now all the 171 students and faculty are preparing for December soul winning outreach. We will send students out to do witnessing for two weeks again. Every year the Lord blesses the December soul winning ministry. For that soul winning outreach ministry, we will need $900 for travel expenses and food. Please pray for with us for that need.

CHILDREN’S HOME MINISTRY

Our children’s home children are fine now. Two wardens are taking care of them, and they also have a house father. All of them say that they will be missionaries. We thank God for that. We hope and believe that they will missionary heroes in the near future.

FIVE-DAY SEMINAR FOR WIVES

We invited our missionaries’ wives to come to Yangon for a five-day seminar Aug. 10–14. There were 34 women. They stayed together at one room, they eat together, they shared their burdens and problems to each other, they prayed together, they studied together. It was a real refreshing time for them.
