On Sunday, Aug. 14, Chris Hindal returned to the church where he preached and played his trumpet 43 years ago. Presenting the International Partnership, Chris returned to the pulpit of First Baptist, Marilla, N.Y., to give the morning message, encouraging the congregation of 372 people to become personally involved in the Great Commission.

Earlier during Sunday School, Chris presented Gospel Literature Services to a combined adult class. Then later that night, almost the entirety of the evening service was dedicated to his PowerPoint overview of the International Partnership.

Pastor Richard Seefried has served at First Baptist for 15 years and is an example of faithful service. In February, he spoke at the Empire State Fellowship of Regular Baptist Churches Winter Conference on “Staying with the Stuff: Principles of Long-term Commitment.” Lovingly referred to as the “old guys,” Seefried and five other preachers shared their testimonies and key principles by which God in His grace has sustained them for the long haul of ministry. Since the church’s inception, First Baptist has seen God’s blessings of spiritual growth. Eight individuals who grew up attending the church now serve as pastors or pastors’ wives. The church has grown physically as well: First Baptist is currently considering the best possible use of a 59-acre parcel recently donated to the church.
