Pastor William Newman Sr. started Central Independent Baptist Church from scratch in 2001.
The congregation recently erected a one-room church building with beautiful tile floors and folding chairs to seat 150 people. They moved into the facility in November 2009. The church owns the building but leases the land, and attendees are praying that someday they can purchase the property. Each Sunday the congregation sets up a tent on the front porch of the church to hold Sunday School and children’s church.
Chris and Deb Hindal were invited to the church on Sunday, March 6, and Chris spoke in all three services. The Hindals enjoyed enthusiastic worship complete with keyboard, drums, and praise team. At the close of the service, several people came forward indicating a rededication of their lives to be stronger witnesses for Christ.
