On Friday, April 27, the Hindals took a short flight from Kisumu to Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. They were met by Pastor John Wahogo and a friend of his, Pastor Albert. Pastor John Wahogo leads an association of churches that has applied to join the IPFBM. On Saturday the Hindals were taken to his humble home and ate lunch, prepared by John’s wife. The Wahogos warmly received them and made sure they were welcome. The discussion centered around the need to build a church in the slum area as well as the lack of available training for the pastors.

Sunday morning the Hindals took a bus well outside the city, where they met a taxi that took them to Pastor Albert’s home for breakfast. The morning church service held at Gitaru Baptist Church was fairly typical, with songs of praise accompanied by African drums. Deb gave her testimony and Chris preached, all translated into Swahili by Pastor John. In addition to Pastor Albert and Pastor John, three other pastors attended, representing their association of churches.

Chris and Deb flew out of Nairobi on Sunday night to make their way back to the United States. Praise God that He is building His church in East Africa. The IPFBM has solid partners in this part of the world.
