Chris Hindal, director of GARBC International Ministries, and his wife, Deb, are currently in East Africa, visiting local churches.

Evangelical Baptist Churches of Rwanda, an IPFBM partner led by Pastor Jean Nshimiyimana, stands strong in the faith with 38 churches scattered across this small country. In two days Chris and Deb visited 10 of those churches, and though they face great financial challenges, they are a joyful reflection of the Body of Jesus Christ. The Rwanda association sent Pastor Nshimiyimana to initiate a church-planting movement in the neighboring country of Congo. Six churches have been organized and now meet in permanent buildings, and several preaching stations have been set up as perspective church plants. The association also has one missionary serving in the predominantly Muslim country of Somalia.

Chris says, “It is a joy to be among these brothers and sisters and personally welcome them into the International Partnership of Fundamental Baptist Churches.”

Rwanda, the Hindals say, appears to be the most organized country they have visited in Africa thus far on their monthlong trip. After traveling from the capital of Rwanda, Kigali, to the eastern border and the next day to the western border, they note that the country is litter free, since on the last Saturday of every month everyone is required to complete a morning of community service.

Each church the Hindals visited formally sends its greetings to the churches and leaders of the GARBC.
