Shelby, Michigan, during the long winter months, is a sleepy little town on the east shore of Lake Michigan. However, in the summer it becomes alive because of the resorts and plentiful fruit crops. Pastor Robert McNeil has also reaped abundant fruit during his 22 years of pastoral ministry at the Shelby Road Baptist Church. Chris & Deb Hindal enjoyed the privilege of presenting the International ministries of the GARBC over the Memorial Day weekend. In spite of the holiday, over 500 worshippers gathered in the two services on Sunday morning and nearly half that many returned on Sunday evening. Chris & Deb were also interviewed by the mission’s committee as well as visiting the missionary cupboard. The Hindal’s commented that it was the best supplied cupboard, especially with power tools and other quality items.

This is the church that followed up on the Hindal’s report of their trip to Haiti in 2006. Pastor Mark Sterken, the outreach pastor, assembled a medical team from the church membership and led them on a mission’s trip to Haiti. That mission’s trip not only impacted those who went but also the 1750 patients and the 55 who professed faith in Christ. This church has been a long time supporter of Gospel Literature Services and several of its members showed interest in some of the current projects. Praise God for a church which expresses the heart of God through its Great Commission work.
