Church leaders associated with the International Partnership of Fundamental Baptist Ministries are preparing for the third All-Partners IPFBM Conference, Nov. 6–10, in the Philippines.

On Monday, Chris Hindal, director of Regular Baptist International; his wife, Deb; and Darrell Goemaat, photography director for Regular Baptist Press, left Chicago for China. Prior to attending the Philippines conference, the team will join Kids4Truth Clubs founder Bob Roberts in Shanghai, where they will also meet with Christians who are translating the Kids4Truth Clubs material into Mandarin.

The purpose of the meeting will be to assess the progress of the translation, ensure a cohesive translation, and determine the product’s completion timeline. The team will also talk to the translators about their passion for the work and why they feel this translation is important. Recognizing the need for this theology-based material for 3-year-olds through sixth-graders, 15 members of a single church volunteered their time to translate the Kids4Truth Clubs resources into their language.

Bob Roberts says, “As I was teaching grade school in Hong Kong, I became acquainted with Christian kids but saw their lack of Biblical understanding. One theology lesson at a time, Kids4Truth began to emerge.”

After visiting Shanghai, the team will fly to Manila, Philippines, to prepare for the arrival of the international partners at the Tagaytay Retreat and Training Center. The conference theme, “Global Construction Zone,” focuses on church planting and reflects Matthew 16:18, where Jesus said, “I will build My church.”

The conference aims for guests to get acquainted, build relationships, share ministry ideas, and collaborate on ministry projects. “Conferences provide the platform for association leaders to recognize that interdependence is the key to exponential progress in fulfilling the Great Commission assignment,” Chris Hindal says.

H. C. Stephen, president of the IPFBM Council of Eight, will open the conference. Featured speakers will be Cyrus Wanyonyi of Kenya, J. D. Enosh of India, Phillip Fernandez of the Philippines, and Hoi Cung Tum of Myanmar. In addition to hearing messages from these ministry partners, guests will attend afternoon workshops, morning and evening worship sessions, and three ministry tracks; participate in a dedicated prayer time; hear reports from ministry partners; and enjoy free time.

Clare Jewell will speak in a general session and lead three workshops on effective strategies for church planting. Jewell is director of Regular Baptist Church Planting and Regular Baptist Builders Club, as well as regional director of the western region of North America for the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism.

Dr. Jim Vogel will conduct a track on practical ministry tips and lead a three-part doctrinal series. Jim is executive director of the Northeast Fellowship and editor of The Pastor: A Guide for God’s Faithful Servant. His wife, Jeannie, a popular ladies’ conference speaker and Regular Baptist Press author, will speak to the ladies each morning and afternoon.

Chris Brown, director of TechMin, will lead an afternoon workshop on the use of technology. He will also record the conference and make it available online and will facilitate the conference’s technical aspects, including PowerPoint, DVDs, and other platforms that speakers will use.

Following the conference, guests may opt to enjoy a two-day tour in Tagaytay and Manila, including visiting museums and places of interest related to World War II.
