Pastor John Victor Sakile leads the New Life Regular Baptist Society in the East Godavari district of South India. “This month again,” he says, flooding has affected his community. He says “almost all” of the houses were flooded, and “some houses are destroyed.”

All of the families attending his church were affected. “Through our organization we sheltered them in a school building, which is 1 km [away] from this effected area,” he reports. “Our team members and volunteers [are] working for this hopeless people” by helping with food, accommodations, and first aid, along with sharing the gospel.

“It’s horrible thing to face the people who lost their belongings and clothes,” he says. “Twelve members of our church people lost everything in this situation.”
