MaryDissee_InlineSister Mary Dissee, a pastor’s wife in Liberia, died Wednesday morning, Nov. 19 after months of illness. Her husband, Elvis Dissee, is pastor of Repentance Baptist Church, Dwork Farm, Todee.

Since this year, Mary had been suffering from jaundice, but her condition got very serious between July and September when the Ebola outbreak was at its peak. During this time, many clinics and hospitals were closed, making it difficult for anyone to be admitted due to fear of contracting the virus. While on the farm, she was treated with herbs, which affected her liver. She was brought to Monrovia for medication last week and diagnosed with liver disease, but nothing much could be done to save her life. Mary is survived by her husband and seven children.

Pastor and Mrs. Dissee started Repentance Baptist Church in 2001 shortly after their arrival from exile in Ghana. They also started two churches in nearby towns. Please pray for Pastor Dissee and his children.
