togo bernard inlineJoseph Akakpo ministers with the Association des Eglises Baptistes Bibliques du Togo in Lome, Togo. He sends the following ministry report.

Jehovah has done wonders again for the Lomnava Church. The vote in the church did go well with 39 members giving 92.3 percent to call Brother Bernard to be elected as the pastor of the church. The presence of Pastors Jason Laird, Happy, Tona, Leo, Kouma, and brother Andrew Ward (ABWE and Togo Pastors representatives) was very encouraging.

Having this positive result, he will be going to Kpalime on Dec. 22 to meet with the Bible Institute administration for an interview and then start classes on Jan. 11. Praise the Lord for a new motorbike already provided for him. Please pray for his wife and four children as he leaves them for two weeks each month for the three-year pastoral training program. He will need $140 per month. If God puts in your heart to be part of his support, retirement, or medical expenses, let me know.

Who is Pastor Bernard? He was born on Aug. 20, 1973, and came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ in 1994 through the ministry of Tim and Helen Matchett (ABWE missionaries). Tim Matchett is now with the Lord. He died and was buried on the field in Togo. Yes, none of their work is in vain. Pastor Bernard heard the call of the Lord into pastoral ministry in May 2014. He leads one of our cell Bible study groups, is a treasurer of the church, and is in charge of the church maintenance. He saw the beginning of the Lomnava Church 21 years ago. As trade, Pastor Bernard is a tailor with many apprentices who learned through his skills and are on their own now.
