In Manipur, India, Helping Hand Children’s Home is caring for 15 orphans. The orphanage is a ministry of Berean Baptist Ministries in Manipur.

B. T. Pousiam, president of Berean Baptist Ministries, operates the orphanage without any financial help or sponsorship. The orphanage’s only income comes from the Christian school that Berean Baptist Ministries also operates.

“These days, due to COVID-19,” Pousiam says, that “small income is not stable.”

To support the children, the orphanage started a pig farm over the summer as a sustainable resource.

The orphanage is now expanding that pig farm to further provide for the children. Construction is underway, with the orphans assisting as they’re able. Some of that labor involves the children collecting and moving stones.

The orphans “give maximum help in labor . . . to speed up the progress,” Pousiam says.

He asks people to “kindly uphold” the orphanage in prayer “for God’s continued blessings.”
