parent inlineJoseph Akakpo ministers with the Association des Eglises Baptistes Bibliques du Togo in Lome, Togo. He sends the following ministry report.

In Lome, some of our churches asked us to do a parents’ seminar for the whole week, and on Sunday we had fellowship together, where I preached on “Choose This Day” (Joshua 24:14–24). The week was long and tiresome, but it was worth it.

I taught on spouses’ relationships and parenthood, which are deteriorating in our days. After the five days of teachings, we got many encouraging testimonies from participants. After individual counseling, many asked prayers for their relationships and parents’ responsibilities. A man said he had a serious problem with his spouse but found the answer from the Word of God during the seminar. One of the teachings says, “God is only God, so let your spouse be human. If you want to save your marital relationship, it will come from you, not from her or him. Also, we do not go into marriage with an exit.”

Parents, too, gained great insight. After the seminar, parents confessed their sins and made vows to the Lord. A father called his son in the US to reconcile with him.
