Chris and Deb Hindal opened the missions conference of Bethel Fundamental Baptist Church in Dasmarinas City, Philippines, on Sunday, Nov. 5 and took part in a ground-breaking ceremony for the church’s new building.

At 9:00 a.m., Pastor Maymon Sarnicula announced the theme of the conference, “Beautiful Feet.” The service included words of encouragement by the chairman of the missions committee. “Outreach is the work and heart of the church,” he said. Then the chairman of the building committee challenged everyone to participate in the faith promise program for the church’s building fund. Chris Hindal highlighted believers’ responsibility in fulfilling the Great Commission and, through PowerPoint, showed photos of IPFBM leaders around the world taking part in fulfilling that Great Commission assignment. The congregation celebrated the Lord’s supper at noon to conclude the service.

After the service, the congregation reset the worship area for lunch and provided a meal for the church members and guests. Following the meal, church members drove to the nearby site of the church’s new building for a ground-breaking ceremony. Pastor Sarnicula said, “This building will serve not only as a place of worship, not only as a ministry building; it is a missions building.” Chris spoke briefly from 1 Kings 6, drawing parallels between the church constructing a new facility and Solomon building a temple. Pastor Sarnicula, church leaders, and some of the children took turns turning a spade to bury a time capsule on the site. The service ended with the group singing “To God Be the Glory.”

The church is close to the retreat center that is serving as the site of the All-Partners IPFBM Conference, which begins Monday, Nov. 6, at 6:00 p.m. in nearby in Tagaytay City. Dinner and a worship service will open the conference, followed by a message from Pastor H. C. Stephen, president of the IPFBM Council of Eight.

For months, Pastor Sarnicula has been a tireless logistical worker in preparing for the conference. He serves as the local committee chairman and is overseeing transportation at three terminals, the printing of banners, the ministry of musicians and prayer leaders, and a post-conference tour.
