Since the time I started to serve the Lord seven years ago here at Doane Baptist Bible Institute, I never had written an impassioned letter as this one. On behalf of DBBI, I am appealing to you that you would continue to pray for us, especially for our financial needs. About four year ago, the administration had no choice but to increase the monthly support of our faculty and staff in order to sustain them. Recently, outside support has gone down so much, to 25 percent of what the seminary used to receive. And furthermore, because of the K–12, our enrollment has also gone down this early. For fear that colleges may not offer the First Year class, many of our young people who intended take the one-year CLC program opted to attend college immediately after high school.

These three major factors caused the depletion of our resources. If nothing is done, we expect that this situation could worsen during the next five years. Cost cutting measures are being implemented and remedial actions are considered, but I am appealing to you on behalf of the seminary to please rally behind us. It would be a great help if you could include DBBI in your budget if you have not yet done that for the coming years. Any amount of a onetime gift is also highly appreciated.

Many of our graduates right now are still serving the Lord faithfully as pastors, church workers, and missionaries here in the Philippines and abroad. This has been the result of God’s faithfulness in providing our needs through our partnership with churches and individuals. May we continue to faithfully labor for our Master till He comes. Thank you very much.

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work”   (2 Cor. 9:8).
