divakar grad inlineSamson Sathish Divakar is executive director of Beacon Baptist Ministries, Tamilnadu, India. He sends the following update on ministry in Belgaum, in the Indian state of Karnataka.

Our ministry in Belgaum continues. Our yearly family camp was attended by 160 and was encouraging to the church members. Prayer festival held in Kakati village was attended by 70 people. Vacation Bible School was attended by 35 children in Kakati, 15 in Sambra, and 35 children in Chandanahosur.

Two students graduated with BTh degrees, three students graduated with MDiv degrees, and one student graduated with an STM degree. It’s a delight to see students go through rigorous academic, spiritual, and ministerial training. One of our graduates will be joining us as a librarian. We are adding two more faculty members to our team of five national faculty and two overseas faculty members, or even sometimes more. These faculty members will be housed in suites that we built last year.

Three needs for prayer:

  1. A van for the seminary, as our old vehicle is falling apart. This is used for getting the groceries and propane gas and for running errands for the seminary. Cost: $7,500.
  2. Land and building for the church in Belgaum. Land alone costs $24,000.
  3. Housing for the Divakars on the campus.
