Pastor Ndihokubwimana Pascal is president of the Community of Baptist Churches in Central Africa. He sends the following ministry update.

The situation with COVID-19 is not very bad here, but a few new cases are registered in Goma every week. As we plan to open churches on August 15, we need to equip churches for sanitary requirements. That will include building water tanks for public washing and additional seats for social distancing.

Yesterday the governor of our province called the denominational leaders and, in his communication, emphasized the rules for COVID-19. Reopening church buildings will not just be starting services as usual. It is terrifying because not all churches will be able to meet the requirements. People need to bring their own drinking containers and practice social distancing at 2 meters, and churches must organize many services where many people are in a small building.
