Summer Vacation: Summer lived upto its reputation as the “Indian Summer”! We are into June and the temperatures still hover around 115 degrees F, as they always were throughout the month of May! Summer heat has always taken its toll of human lives in several parts of the country. The students are back in their hometowns, churches and summer camps, taking advantage of teaching and preaching opportunities.

Re-opening and New applications: the college is set to re-open on June 28, scheduled to begin with Spiritual Life Conference from July 2-4, and classes resume on July 7. We are eagerly anticipating the strength of students both new and returning to touch, God willing 180.

Personally I look forward to having students back on the campus and in the class rooms after we have starved of their presence during summer. The students hail from the States of Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, Maharastra, Orissa, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. Half a dozen students who stayed on during summer here on the campus were involved in tract distribution, Sunday School teaching and street preaching in the surrounding villages.

Alumni Pastors: Trinity Baptist Church (on the campus), Siloam fundamental Baptist Church in Jeedimatla; Bethel Bible Church in Ravalkol; Siloam Baptist Church in Athvelli; Hope Baptist Church in Yapral; Faith Baptist Church in Yamjal; Grace Baptist Church on Kandlakoya; Bible Baptist Church in Medchal are all pastored by our graduates.

Our graduates who number around 1800 have planted an average 2 local churches in India, in Burma, Africa, the Middle East and in the USA. They have been Bible College and Seminary teachers, evangelists, Christian school teachers and educators.

The alumni as well as the present student body need all the support we can give them for the task of church planting, teaching the Inerrant Word of God, preaching the unadulterated Gospel of Christ. Turning the hearts of modern men and women and pointing them to Christ is committed to these Christian young men and women who go through Biblical-theological training for 4, or 5, or 7 years. Would you not invest your time (financial gifts) in the lives of these young people?

BBC Evening College: We had 16 students in the Extension studies in the city last year. What an opportunity this is for our Faculty to impart the “tools for ministry”, seeking to help equip the Christian men and women in the twin-cities of Hyderabad and Secuderabad! Some of the students are already in full-time ministry, some pastors, some school teachers and others government employees. These students having already earned a secular degree, desire to build that knowledge on the eternal knowledge of God’s Word. Their penchant for deeper into God’s Word is commendable and it tells on their concern for fellow church members and love for the lost souls. BBC is unreservedly committed to imparting the great truths (life changing and life-sustaining) of the Bible both in the Day College and in the Evening College.

Commencement Exercises March 2008: the Faculty, the Staff ad the Board of Governors and the new Graduates were full of praise to God for enabling each to fulfill the respective obligations through the year. The commencement speaker Mr. Jim W Starr challenged all of us, especially the 66 new graduates, calling attention to the unfinished task of evangelism in the Indian sub-continent, as well as in the forbidden Hindu and Islamic countries. Emphasis was laid on the uncompromising, unchanging, good-old Biblical Christian Gospel with which to reach out to the lost world of other religions. The message also sounded warning about the ever-changing charismatic – cultural gospel that has misled thousands of lost and thirsty sheep to mere mirages!

Some of the 66 graduates from B.Th. and B.D will return to continue on and complete their Th.M. degree here before launching into the battle-field! The graduates testify that they have found BBC to be the only institution fully committed to and built upon the Word of God and an instrument in God’s hand to train up men and women for facing spiritual challenges and raising the banner of Jesus Christ!

We appreciate your prayer and practical support for this focused ministry!

Nazarene Grammar High School on the BBC campus:

This school has been a catalyst in brining non-christians together on occasion to listen to God’s Word. Nearly 760 children come from 40 surrounding villages to our high school. Last year our X grade and VII grade students secured 100% results in government exams! Among many positive and encouraging things about the existence and purpose of the school is that the students, who are 95% non-christian are exposed to the message of Christ in some form, and some of them even now enjoy singing songs of salvation without realizing the meaning!

I am sure, some great day, the Lord will open their eyes to see themselves as lost sinners in God’s sight, and find their Saviour in Jesus Christ.

Pray for the Correspondent, Head Mistress, the teachers, the Staff and the students of Nazarene Grammar High school, will you not, please!

Among the needs of the college – and this wonderful ministry:

1. Invest your money (gifts) in the lives of young people who are called to be servants and witnesses of our Lord Jesus Christ. Your generous gift of $500 will see one student through one whole academic year!

2. College needs a van for evangelism outreach work; medical mission to rural areas, and for transporting our guests from and to the city. (Cost about US$13,000/-)

3. Overhead Water Tank: for supplying water to our agricultural land on the campus, as well as for general utility of our Staff and Students on the campus. (Cost about US$18,000/)

4. Nazarene Grammar High School: needs furniture. We are short of 20 benches (desks); lab equipment; at least two teachers’ quarters. (cost about US$ 40,000/-)

5. Annual Gospel Campaign: set to take place in December 2nd week. Teams will go to about 12 tours – covering also about 100 villages for one whole week. (Cost about US$12,000/-)

I request you to pray and invest your finances in this eternal Cause of Christ. The Word of God will not return void, until it accomplishes God’s purpose in the lives of its hearers!
