Sakile new SS inlineJohn Victor Sakile is a pastor in the East Godavari district of South India and leads the New Life Regular Baptist Society. On Feb. 1 and 8, his church held its first Sunday School services in what he describes as a dangerous communist area. Despite its location, Sunday School has been a success, he says.

“Praise the Lord for His grace to do His work to create better future generation for Christ’s service,” Sakile says.

A relative of Sakile’s, Pastor Michael Raju, began ministering in this area of India in the 1980s. Persecution from the communist people was great. “By the grace of God,” Sukile says, people are now responding positively to New Life Regular Baptist Society’s efforts to share the gospel in every home. Loving others by helping the needy and assisting in social services like medical camps is giving the group opportunities to introduce people to Christ’s love.

Sunday School took place on the porch of a fellow Christian’s house, and people have requested that worship services be held in that same place. Sakile says he is “praying for Lord’s guidance” to start worship services on March 1.
