Merry Christmas to you, our family and friends!

This year has been busy and full. Our family is so thankful for the times God has allowed our path to cross with yours. Even if we haven’t seen you this year, you’ve often been in our thoughts and prayers.

Here’s just a quick update on some of this year’s adventures.

Kara started 4th grade at Horseheads Christian School, and Lauryn started 2nd grade. Both are doing well in school and think they know everything. Lauryn just celebrated her 7th birthday, and Kara will hit double digits after the first of the year. We are thankful for both of them, as they are both really good girls—loud and crazy at times—but both are learning and are striving to please God with their thoughts and actions.

Dax is a busy two year old. Thankfully he is now potty trained (that was one of the year’s highlights—sad as that sounds). We are enjoying him and all his energy. He likes to play tackle football with Daddy and to play with his cars and trains. He looks forward to afternoons when his sisters come home so he can bug them.

We successfully finished the addition to our house earlier this year. That means that if you want to stop by and visit, there is plenty of room at our dining room table for all of us!

We were able to take the family to Florida in February to visit some really great friends. We enjoyed the weather, the fellowship, and the time off. We hope to make a return visit soon.

Chris and I had the opportunity to travel to Saipan this year and minister in a college there. (I know—you’re probably wondering where Saipan is. It’s the closest U.S. territory to China.) Saipan is a beautiful tropical island, and we enjoyed a little vacation there while Chris taught the college students about video-editing and Web stuff (Chris wasn’t teaching me about it—so that’s all I really know). But it was encouraging to be a part of the ministry there and to serve God in that way.

Chris has spent most of his Monday nights playing volleyball in a YMCA league. It’s not quite as competitive as he’d like it to be, but it’s fun. We’ve taken the kids a few times to watch, and they enjoy cheering him on. The league has finished for the holiday season, and Chris is ready for the new year and for a new season to begin.

Most recently, Chris and I took our fathers to a Steelers’ football game in Pittsburgh. I’d like to say it was the best game ever, but unfortunately, our team barely won over the Dolphins while we sat through a miserable, cold, and rainy game. But we had a lot of fun, and we’ll just say it was memorable.

As we celebrate our Savior’s birth this season, we rejoice in all of God’s blessings, and look forward to the adventures of a new year. We wish you a wonderful Christmas, and look forward to crossing paths with you soon!

Love,

Amy for Chris, Kara, Lauryn, and Dax
