MacDouglas Emmanuel Ampadu, president of the Association of Fundamental Baptist Churches in Accra, Ghana, sends the following ministry update.

Josiah Kennedy is planting Crossroads Baptist Church in Dodowa, the greater Accra region of Ghana. This young congregation started in June 2009 and has been meeting in a school while saving funds for a building of its own. The church was able to locate a tract of land, bought it, and paid it off. The church put together the building plans and waited on the Lord for funds.

Then came COVID-19 with all its restrictions. Churches around the world had to temporarily suspend their public worship gatherings. The churches of Ghana were equally affected. However, when the ban on public worship gatherings was lifted, the schools remained closed. Crossroads Baptist Church was suddenly faced with the dilemma of where to meet.

Pastor Josiah put out a plea. They designed the building so it could be constructed in three phases. The first phase would include the foundation, pillars, and roof. This would enable the church to meet in this pavilion-like structure until God provided additional funds. Phase one costs $4,500. The building will be 50′ x 90′ and will accommodate 350 worshipers.

A layman from Michigan was presented with this need, and his heart was open to helping this church. He committed to underwrite the costs of phase one. He is also praying about helping with the next phase as well.

God used the restrictions of COVID-19 to put the donor and church together. The church had its ground-breaking and is on its way. To God be the glory!
