Crossroads Baptist Church in Ghana is celebrating one year of meeting in its own building. The church, located in Dodowa, the greater Accra region of Ghana, is a member of the Association of Fundamental Baptist Churches in Accra. Josiah Abedu-Kennedy is vice president of the association and pastor of the church.

Josiah planted Crossroads Baptist Church in 2009. The congregation met in a school while saving funds to construct a church building. But when COVID-19 restrictions began, the school closed, leaving the church nowhere to meet.

In the fall of 2020 Crossroads Baptist Church began constructing its own building, using funds the congregation had saved, financial help from a layman in Michigan, and a grant from Regular Baptist International. In November 2020, even though the church was still under construction, the congregation began meeting in that new structure. Construction finished this fall.

Josiah says the church members “had such a wonderful time” Nov. 26–28 celebrating their “first year in our own church building on our own property.”

The celebration included what Josiah calls soul-winning services on Friday and Saturday and a church service on Sunday with guest speaker Peter Baah, pastor of Dansoman Baptist Church, a fellow church of the Association of Fundamental Baptist Churches in Accra. That weekend 25 people professed Christ as Savior.

“All to the glory of God,” Josiah says. “We rejoice and are thankful for the blessings of God on His ministry.”

Donations to Regular Baptist International furnish grants for international partnering associations. Those grants not only aid associations’ growing ministries but also assist associations after natural disasters. Donate online, by phone, or by check.
