Vacaville, California, situated between Sacramento and San Francisco, enjoys easy access to the mountains, the beach, and many cultural venues offered by both cities. Pastor Ken Doan has led Orchard Avenue Baptist Church for the past 19 years. After holding double Sunday morning services, the church constructed a new auditorium in 2004.

Chris Hindal visited the church on Sunday, March 5 and presented Regular Baptist International, of which he is director. The congregation responded enthusiastically both in the Sunday School hour and the morning worship service. Chris states, “My heart rejoiced as I participated in relevant worship and sensed that the congregation embraced the global vision.” Pastor Ken challenged the congregation to give generously toward the emergency needs caused by the famine in Uganda, and the offering totaled $2,821.

Orchard Avenue Baptist Church has also birthed a Spanish church. Pastor Steve and Karen Borders, missionaries with ABWE, lead this congregation in the church’s former auditorium. What a blessing to see a church reaching another people group in its community!
