The Ash Wednesday Conference is an annual event for the Association of Independent Baptist Churches of Jamaica. Since Ash Wednesday is a national holiday in Jamaica, the association takes advantage of this occasion by inviting all church members to come together for its Ash Wednesday Conference at Havenhill Baptist Church in Kingston, the capital of Jamaica.

The day includes meaningful worship, announcements relevant to the churches, lunch, a short business meeting, and a spiritual challenge from two speakers.

Chris Hindal was one of the speakers at this year’s conference Feb. 26, speaking in the morning to the 500 delegates on the theme “Standing in the Gap.” A visiting evangelist, Ucal Thompson, spoke in the afternoon. During a business meeting, William Newman was reelected for a two-year term as president of the association, and Godfrey Watson was reelected as vice president.

Chris says, “God was glorified throughout the day!”
