New churches are under construction in Mantripalem, Dokiparru, and Choragudi, India, reports Dr. Devasahayam Chatla, president of the Indian Christian Bethel Baptist Gospel Fellowship in Andhra Pradesh. He is praying that construction will be finished by December.

At the end of December, an annual conference is planned to take place. Each year churches gather for this conference Dec. 27–31. Last year about 4,000 people attended—taking part in an all-night prayer service on the 31st and participating in the Lord’s Supper on Jan. 1 at 3:00 a.m. The conference concluded at 4:30 that morning with singing and prayer.

Prayer continued Jan. 1–5 as the association hosted a Solomon Prayer Night. Participants stayed all night at a church, praying for churches’ ministries. On the last night, the association gave each pastor and elder a new diary and calendar.

Currently churches remain closed to help slow the spread of COVID-19. The association also canceled an April conference, as well as several other meetings, but hopes to reschedule that conference for Oct. 2.

Please pray for financial support to assist pastors so they can provide for their families, Dr. Chatla asks. Also pray for the health of elderly church members, for the support of orphans, and for the association’s Bible college to be able to resume.
