In the Chikwawa district of Malawi, 477 students have been unable to attend a local primary school following tropical storm Ana, says Francis Chipukunya, founder and projects leader of Going Home Africa Ministries.

The school has an enrollment of 3,192 students. Many of the students’ parents lost their belongings when these families’ houses washed away in the floodwaters. The families have sought refuge in faraway places, preventing the children from attending school.

About 2,000 members of Francis’s church were among those affected by the storm, with their homes either being damaged or destroyed by floodwaters.

People in this area need necessities such as clothes, food, and temporary shelters, as well as writing materials for students.
