G. Larque Vaye is pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Monrovia, Liberia. He sends the following ministry update.

Easter greetings come to you in the name of our risen Lord. During this time of global COVID-19 pandemic, we are concerned about our friends and supporters in the US and around the world. We hope all is well with you and your family and church. Our hearts go out to the many people infected with the virus and those families that are mourning the deaths of loved ones. Our prayers are with you as we all go through this worldwide lockdown.

Indeed, this brings the words of Scripture to pass before our very eyes: “For nations shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in diverse places. All these are the beginning of sorrows” (Matt. 24:7, 8). Sure, these are the beginning of sorrows. But our God is in control.

As we are all affected by this pandemic, Liberia, a country devastated by Ebola four years ago, that saw the death of close to 5,000 people, is under a state of emergency. There are presently 59 cases with 5 deaths. Please pray for us, as our health system is so challenged with little or no means to fight this virus. My family and church are doing fine as services remained suspended from our edifices. However, we continue to meet in our homes for services and prayers. Keep safe.
