Prasad Sakile is a pastor with the New Life Regular Baptist Society in Andhra Pradesh, India. He sends the following ministry update.

Four families attending our church (Muslims) were infected with the coronavirus at our Gangalakurru village church area. By the grace of God, though all were hospitalized, all are safe.

Yesterday we learned of a polymer gas leak in one of our targeted ministry areas. Nine people died, one from our church group.

In our region, stay-at-home orders are extended to May 17. Our major problem is that so many pastors from our Baptist Pastors Association are suffering with hunger. The churches have been closed for such a long time and it might extend until the second week of June. All our churches are independent, and the pastors don’t receive subsidies from any other organization. That is true of us as well. We depend on church members’ love offerings.

By the grace of God, we have supplied essentials, including groceries and bags of vegetables to some of our pastors. Our association comprises 74 pastors, yet we served only 24 pastors due to our own financial situation. We used all our finances to help the poor church people who suffered with the coronavirus. Three times we supplied each home with grocery kits (700 families).

This assistance was possible because of the Lord’s grace and your support. I know He never fails His servants to do His work. His grace and our supporters helped us in this critical situation. I am thankful to our God and our church volunteers who helped me a lot with their generosity of work for purchasing, packing, and distributing the food.

Please help us provide grocery kits for poor pastors of our association. Each kit cost $15 (USD). I know the Lord never forsakes His followers. Our local supporters contribute to these needs, yet the vast needs exceed their giving ability in this pandemic.
