Dr. Ishak Ahmed of Silchar, Assam, India, died March 26. He was one of the leaders who helped form the Biblical Baptist Partnership International.

Ishak, who holds a PhD in biochemistry, was president of Northeast India Baptist Bible College and Seminary in Silchar (a ministry of The Planters in Partnership India Society in Silchar) and pastor of Silchar Baptist Church.

Ishak initially “worked at the University of Helsinki in Finland, and later, as a scientist in India,” says  Northeast India Christian Endeavor, which was founded in 2010 to support Northeast India Baptist Bible College and Seminary. “However, in his heart, he always wanted to return to his home to serve God and be a witness among the Muslim people from whom he and his family members were saved.

“That door was opened in 1996, when Northeast India Baptist Bible College needed a president.”

Ishak is survived by his wife, Suja; their son, Phillip; and their daughter, Rachel.
