Nang Za Thawn is pastor of Evangelical Baptist Church in Tamu, Myanmar. This church is affiliated with the Evangelical Baptist Conference, a partner with the International Partnership of Fundamental Baptist Ministries. Thawn sends the following ministry update.

The Lord has answered our prayer and honored effort here in this needy land of Myanmar. We have been visiting a Buddhist village called Naungket for a year to make friends with the villagers. After building a strong friendship with three families, we began to tell them about creation; they need to understand that there is no “circling of life.”

They believe in circling of life: if one does good, he or she will become a better human being, then there will be a place called nothing; if one does not do good, he or she will after death become an animal.

Praise God! He helped them understand there is no circling of life. We took another step with them, telling them about sin; total depravity of man; the need of salvation; the love of God; the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ for us the sinners; the gift of salvation. We held an evangelistic meeting for three days there.

Three men accepted Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world. They were then baptized and a church was established there. This is the first church in the village, and we are very thankful to God for what He has done in the village. Please pray for this newly born and first church in the village, that they will be good seeds in the village for the living God.
