Wesley Chatla is a pastor with the Indian Christian Bethel Baptist Gospel Fellowship in Andhra Pradesh, India. He sends the following ministry update.

We are witnessing an alarming rise in persecution in India, increasing atrocities against pastors and believers. To face these with God’s help, we need pastors to have a firm grip on the Word, which consequently will be passed on to believers.

With an aim to equip the existing pastors with solid Biblical knowledge and an in-depth understanding of the Word of God, I have been partnering with like-minded ministers of God to organize seminars for pastors for one week in other countries. As a part of that, since last year I spoke at leadership seminars in Bangkok and Dubai.

Last month a group of 46 people, which included pastors and their families from two states, spent a week in Singapore for the Glorious Grace Conference, Aug. 20–26. Four speakers, including me, spoke from the first chapter of the book of Ephesians on the riches in the grace of God. God blessed our time of fellowship, and many pastors expressed and accepted their lack of sufficient knowledge and grip on the Word after the sessions. Glory to God alone.
