The Association des Eglises Baptistes Bibliques du Togo, an IPFBM partner in Togo, West Africa, sends the following report of persecution, not from Muslims, but from voodoo worshipers.

Voodoo_inlineRight now in Togo, not the Muslims but the voodoo worshipers are persecuting Christians. In Anfoin, east of Lome, there is great persecution of Christians, and a pastor is imprisoned this week because of his faith in Jesus Christ. The voodoo worshipers are saying Christians are making their gods to not hear their prayers and are departing from them. Worst of all, local authorities are at the side of the witch doctors and are trying to find ways to close all churches in the city except the voodoo shrines.

How can they believe if they do not hear? Please pray that closing of churches in Anfoin does not happen. I just spoke with Pastor Topeawou, a leader of a sister church in that city, and he confirmed the intensiveness of Christians’ persecution. Persecution is normal because of our faith in Christ, and I say this is good news. Pray that this pastor can be released.

We have the victory no matter the cost.
