Wesley Chatla of Andhra Pradesh, India, asks people to pray for his father, Dr. Devasahayam Chatla, who is in the hospital.

Wesley and his father both serve with the Indian Christian Bethel Baptist Gospel Fellowship in Andhra Pradesh: Wesley is a church planter, and his father is president.

Dr. Chatla was admitted to the hospital on Saturday afternoon after testing positive for COVID-19. His wife has tested negative and is “doing well by the grace of God,” Wesley says.

Considering Dr. Chatla’s oxygen saturation levels, low platelet count, and preexisting conditions of diabetes, cardiac issues, and a leg amputation, doctors admitted him to the hospital an hour away from home to avoid emergency issues.

He is now receiving antibiotics, remdesivir injections, and steroids. “The course of injections and antibiotics will be done by Wednesday,” Wesley says. “So, please pray that he will not get into any side effects.”

Wesley asks people to fervently pray for his father’s “complete healing and return home.” The Chatla family also thanks everyone who has emailed them to offer encouragement. “God is good, and we praise God for His faithfulness,” Wesley says.
