My heart is filled with extreme thankfulness for everyone who prayed and gave toward the needs of Myanmar Biblical Baptist Fellowship during the past months and years. Because of your financial support, we have such a wonderful ministry here in the needy land of Myanmar. We live in a day when it’s not difficult to see that times are tough. The economy is shaky and could very well get worse. Many of you may be facing financial hardships like never before. I also believe that the work of the Lord must go on, no matter what our circumstances. Together we could accomplish more.

May I share with you what is happening during these two months in His vineyard?

I. BIBLE COLLEGE MINISTRIES
(1) Biblical School of Theology
For this Academic year, we have 156 Bible students who are committed to the Word and ministry. Every Sunday we conduct Sunday School classes at 33 places for non-Christian children. We reach between 623 and 640 children every week with the gospel. The Lord has provided some bicycles for this Sunday School outreach ministry. We praise the Lord for His wonderful provision that we experienced as prayer was answered. Miss Rachael Mawi is one of the Wardens for girls and the Sunday School superintendent. Students and faculty prayed for library development, and the Lord provided Internet access for students’ research and faster communication with their friends and relatives. We praise the Lord for His faithfulness on His promises. We have three computers and need at least 10 more computers for students at a cost of $400 each.

Every Saturday the students distribute gospel tracts downtown and meet daily at 6:00 pm for prayer. I have a great vision for the ministry with these young people.

(2) Faith Missionary Training Institute
This is a three-month, three-year program for those who cannot follow English but have a great desire to do the work of ministry. This year we have 23  students from five different ethnic groups. They all have a great zeal for the Lord. From this institution, three students will graduate on March 3, 2012. All  three surrendered their lives for missions. We do need missions funds for their ministry in unreached areas; $80 monthly will be able to support one missionary.

II. CHURCH PLANTING/ MISSIONARY MOVEMENT

In Yangon City area, the Lord enabled us to start 14 small churches. We had the first combined worship service of Bible-believing churches in the Yangon city area at the Biblical School of Theology chapel on Sept. 4. Most of the church members are new converts from a Buddhist background. We had a wonderful worship service at 1:00 pm and, after that, a feast for all. There were 568 people in this service and feast. There were group singings and preaching and cooperative prayers. What a joyful time for all of us. The churches in attendance are less than six year old.

We invited our missionaries’ wives and female workers for a five-day seminar Sept. 5–9. They stayed in one room, ate together, prayed together, shared their problems with each other, and learned together. There were 44 Bible women in that seminar.

Mr. Saw Tah Ee and family have been working in the city since 2002. He has produced five missionaries through his ministry. The Lord is using him to open new mission fields, one of them in the city of Pathein. He has about 11 people in the Bible study. There is a potential to start a new church. My wife and I went down to Pathein City Sept. 12 and bought a piece of land 60 feet by 50 feet. We have $Ks. 800000, which is equivalent to U.S. $800 for a church building at that place; $3,200 is still needed for that church building.

We started working in Mon State in July. A young man by the name of Philip Ral Lian Hmung went to that state particularly in Tathung town. The Lord enabled him to win some souls to Christ. We thought that the best way to make disciples was to bring them to our Bible college and conduct a discipleship class for them on Sept. 15–17. What a fruitful ministry. This young man needs a motorbike for his missions work at the cost of $1,400.

Missionary Ca Hmung (48 years old) went to be with the Lord on Sept. 17 while serving the Lord in his mission field. He left behind his two daughters and his wife.

Needs and prayer request:
1. Laptops for students’ use at our Bible library
2. Pathein Church building funds
3. Missionary Philip’s motorbike
4.  $2,000 for Christmas soul-winning marathon

Yours in His vineyard,
