BangladeshNotes_inlineChildren attending VBS at Dulah Missionary Baptist Church, Tabor City, N.C., have ministered to children across the globe. The church used the Arrow Island: Choosing God’s Way VBS program published by Regular Baptist Press, which suggested a missions project called Operation Bangladesh: Reaching Children for Christ. The project helped students catch a vision for the needs of children in Bangladesh.

Operation Bangladesh aims to improve the lives of students attending and living at a Christian school and hostel in Hebron, located in the Hill Tracts section of Bangladesh. Parents in the Hill Tracts send their children hours away to live at the school so they can gain a Biblical education. However, due to meager funding, the school and hostel facilities fail to meet basic standards of living. Money donated to Operation Bangladesh would provide the drilling for a new well, more beds and mattresses, a new roof for the hostel, and solar panels to generate electricity.

Out of concern, the students in North Carolina wrote notes to the Bangladeshi children. Praise God for VBS teachers who promote global missions to the next generation. Excited about their part, the children gave $1,700 toward the project. What a tremendous example of the GARBC’s statement that “together we can accomplish more.”
