A generous donor has made seating at Highland Hills Baptist Church in Monrovia, Liberia, possible.

Millersburg, Ohio, is in the heart of Amish country. Chris Hindal, director of GARBC International Ministries, and his wife, Deb, ministered to Millersburg Baptist Church on Sunday morning, Aug. 17. Pastor Greg Lonsway was anxious to help the congregation connect with what the GARBC, the church’s own association, was doing internationally.

The Hindals enjoyed a special treat, as Dr. Mark and Irene Jackson attended the service. Jackson previously served as director of Gospel Literature Services and then came out of retirement to initiate the International Partnership of Fundamental Baptist Ministries. Chris says, “It was an emotional meeting, as we had not seen each other for several years.”

Chris provided an overview of Gospel Literature Services during the Sunday School hour and preached from Luke 5 during the morning worship time, including a presentation of the international partnership. He challenged the congregation to “go fish,” referencing Jesus’ fishing for-men motif in the New Testament.

At the close of the service, Pastor Lonsway encouraged the church to respond to the needs of their brothers and sisters in faraway places. Sunday evening he found an envelope in his office with $2,600 designated for benches for Highland Hills Baptist Church in Monrovia, Liberia. This had been a project of the IPFBM and is now considered complete. He anticipates that others will also respond to needs of partners around the world. Praise the Lord!
