Abandoned Children Care Foundation
Monrovia, Liberia
by Pastor Peter K. Flomo, country director
For fourteen years, the people of Liberia fought against themselves in a war. Many children became orphans, and others were left behind. So, ten years ago (in 1998) some Christians started the Abandoned Children Care Foundation. The foundation collects money for the children and makes sure the money goes toward taking care of the children.

When children of Liberia lost their families, they needed someone else to take care of them. The Abandoned Children Care Foundation helps to fi nd Christian families for the children to live with. About three hundred orphans are being taken care of, and there are more all the time.

Meet Donna and Isaac

Donna, one of fi ve children, was orphaned when she was only one month old. Donna’s father is a polygamist. That word means he has more than one wife. Sadly, he made slaves out of his wives and didn’t treat them well. So Donna’s mother killed herself to escape her horrible life.

Donna is a happy baby now because she lives with a Christian family. She will grow up knowing about Jesus!

When Isaac’s mother was ready to have her baby, there were no hospitals, clinics, or ambulances in her village. Her neighbors carried her to the nearest doctor far away. She had her baby, Isaac, on the way.
When Isaac was only one hour old, the men left him along the road where he had been born. They took his mother to a clinic, but she died. Now Isaac lives with the same Christian family as Donna, and he is learning about God’s love.
