enfield inline“What a delightful time I had at First Baptist, Enfield, Connecticut, on Sunday, Feb. 15,” says Chris Hindal, director of GARBC International Ministries. Pastor George O’Keefe kindly arranged a hotel in town, since Chris’s plane had been rerouted from Hartford, Connecticut, to Albany New York, due to weather. Chris drove in from Albany, but even then the time of the services on Sunday was uncertain. Pastor O’Keefe said, “We have a plan B, and that will be to have our scheduled church dinner at noon, and following dinner we will have Sunday School and the worship service. Saturday night produced only a couple of extra inches of snow, so the church held services as usual. What is a couple of inches of snow when there are three feet on the ground already!

This multiethnic congregation took a keen interest in the GARBC International Ministries. When Chris asked if anyone had heard of the Indian language of Telugu, the whole congregation raised their hands. Two Telugu-speaking families attend the church. A record number of church people signed up to receive the International Ministries’ monthly e-mail update. Of course, the food at the carry-in dinner was scrumptious, and the fellowship of the morning brought Heaven down.
