Dear Praying Friends and Partners:
Greetings from Iloilo City, Philippines!
The seminary that God established 88 years ago is still accomplishing its purpose until now because of your prayers and sacrificial giving. Truly we need more of your prayers as we move through the coming years in training men and women for the ministry. You have been used by God to encourage and sustain us in many ways. You do have your share of challenges during these difficult times, yet you have not forgotten us. Thank you very much.
Just before the start of classes last June, the Friends of Doane held their Ingathering Fellowship here in Iloilo. Doane Seminary was greatly encouraged through their generosity and gestures of support. This school year the Lord gave us 184 students. Sixty six of these are new students, including 13 professionals. We now have 16 interns who are assigned in different parts of the country to serve the churches and learn from their pastors the intricacies of the ministry before they graduate.
We are now raising funds for a new building that will provide space for the administrative offices and classrooms for the seminary. At this time, the elementary and the seminary are sharing the same facilities. We feel that we have to have a facility that is separate and more conducive for learning, especially for the seminary students. This is a big project that would need 25 million pesos to finish. Our only hope is in God, Who will use His people to supply the needs of the ministry. Please do include this item in your prayers.
Thank you very much.
