A church in the Blifou area of Togo holds a worship service dedicating its new building.

In the Blifou area of Togo, a church finished constructing a new place of worship.

This congregation now has “an appropriate place to study the Bible and give all the worship due to God,” says Joseph Akakpo, who ministers with the Association of Biblical Baptist Churches of Togo.

The church dedicated the building March 22 in a worship service. “It was a great celebration day with many sister local churches present,” Joseph says.

In another area, a village of Togo’s Kpekpleme district, a church was planted after evangelism efforts by the Association of Biblical Baptist Churches of Togo. “If you do not go out, you will not see where the needs are,” Joseph says.

People in that area “were in the dark and now found the light in Jesus Christ through the Word of God, which was preached to them,” Joseph says. He gave French Bibles, French New Testaments, and other resources “to all who can read.” He praises God that a plot of land has been donated so this new church can build a place of worship.

In other ministries, the association has been leading youth and parenting seminars to share the gospel with students and adults and to help Christians grow as followers of Christ. The seminars will continue in various parts of Togo until June.

“Praise the Lord for His Holy Scriptures and the Holy Spirit working in lives,” Joseph says. “Only the Word of God can transform lives.”
