The Evangelical Baptist Conference of Myanmar received a grant from Regular Baptist International to help reconstruct Evangelical Baptist Church, which had burned in Myanmar’s civil war.
The grant “was not only a financial help for the church members, but also mental and spiritual help,” says Nang Za Thawn, president of the Evangelical Baptist Conference.
Nang says, “Tears of joy from the pastor and the lead deacon showed how their joy was great to receive the grant. This helps them know believers are praying for them and extending their helping hands to them. We had a sweet fellowship with them and had prayer for the believers who donated the money for the grant.”
The grant also provided relief for more than 200 area families who were affected by the fighting. They received basic food, like rice, cooking oil, and noodles; kitchen supplies and utensils; and school supplies for the families’ kids. While visiting these families, Nang and a team shared the gospel with them.
“It was our privilege to tell them about the salvation of Jesus,” Nang says. Each visit “was a real blessing that reflects the love of Jesus to each one.”
Nang thanks Regular Baptist International and its donors for their “prayer and support for these people.”
