First Baptist Church of Goshen, Ind., is the birthplace of Gospel Literature Services. Mike Riley, a member of the church, heard missionaries’ cry for Sunday School materials and began sending the used curriculum the church had accumulated. From that vision, Gospel Literature Services was born in 1973 and Mike Riley assumed the post of the first director on behalf of Regular Baptist Press.

Chris Hindal, the current GLS director, participated in a three-day weekend missions conference on Sept. 14–16 at First Baptist. Pastor Gregg Lanzen is leading this congregation to involve itself in the community. Among other ministries, the church hosts the July 4 citywide fireworks display called Celebrate America. About 25,000 people attend.

Chris enjoyed a great time of fellowship with the pastoral staff and the other missionaries. The church continues as a strong supporter of Gospel Literature Services.
