This fall, Regular Baptist International awarded a grant to Ndiho Pascal, president of the Community of Baptist Churches of Central Africa, Congo. The funds assisted 13 church families whose relatives drowned when a boat capsized on Lake Kivu along with 300 other people.
“Thank you again for your recent grant received to help the families affected by the boat sinking,” Ndiho says. “Some families were able to bury their beloved and others have not seen the bodies yet.”
He allocated the grant to the 13 families. The church’s pastor and treasurer delivered a portion of the funds and a crate of soda (which respects the culture when arriving to offer comfort) to every family.
The treasurer said a word of condolence and prayed with each family.
One man whose wife died said the funds were not only an assistance but a sign of love and the unity of the Body of Christ. He says “thank you so much” to donors of Regular Baptist International for making the grant possible.
