Evangelism

The church is focusing on soul- wining and evangelism for this year. For the last three months, about 145 souls got saved as the result of altar call and outreach. Many of these new converts, both from Calvary and the fellowships have already been baptized, while some are presently in baptism classes. Here at Calvary, more than 15 persons completed the New Believers Class and will soon be accepted into membership.

Discipleship Program

On Sunday, June 13, 22 persons graduated from Discipleship Class One, and received certificates. Meanwhile, registrations are taking place for the next class and that of the advanced study for leaders.

Fellowships and Supported Churches

The fellowships under Calvary and churches whose pastors are being supported by the church are also working in line with our goal for this year.

Central Baptist Church, Pipeline, Paynesville

At the Central Baptist Church, 17 persons received Christ as Lord and Savior and eight (8) persons attending the Baptism class. In May, the entire roof of the church was blown away by storm. By the help of the Lord, some friends and partners of the church responded to our appeal. With the funds that came in, the church was reroofed and services there resumed one week later.

Kadumah Community Baptist Church, Barnesville

At the Kadumah Community Baptist Church where Rev. Peter Gblee serves as pastor, 11 persons trusted Christ as Savior, and five (5) persons currently in the baptism class.

New Life Baptist Church, Duport Road

Since his take over as the new pastor of the New Life Baptist Church, Pastor Isaac Peter is working very hard to bring back some of the members who left the church after the death of Rev. Samuel Boweh.  Present attendance average for the three months is about 40. During the quarter, one (1) person got saved. One major set back for the church and Calvary during this quarter concerns the Zubah Town land. In 1998, the church bought Three (3) acres of land to be used for the future site of the New Life Baptist Church. But while preparations were being done to clear the site for the making of bricks, dispute arose concerning the ownership of land. After several legal tussles at the Ministry of Justice and the Land, Mines and Energy Ministry, it had been established that the other party did buy two of the lots in 1990 from the original owner of the property. The legal committee is presently working with the lawyers and Counselor Daku Mulbah to have the land surveyed and the sellers be made to refund church money.

Crossroads Baptist Fellowship, King Gray

At the Crossroads Baptist Fellowship, the total of 29 persons made profession of faith in the Lord and some will be attending the next baptism class.

Calvary Baptist Church, Kakata, Margibi County

The Calvary Baptist Church where Pastor Diorh O. Barnes serves as pastor baptized eight (8) persons during the quarter and saw additional 14 persons coming to Christ.

Repentance Baptist Church, Todee

The Repentance Baptist Church in Todee conducted a week long revival in one of the towns and eight (8) persons trusted Christ as Lord and Savior. A fellowship has been established in the Town where the revival was held. Meanwhile at the church itself, ten persons are in the baptism class. The pastor of this church is pastor Elvis Dissee, one of the Faith Promise supported local pastors.

Evangelist Garmonyou Yeargar (the wheel chairman evangelist) toured many towns in Grand Bassa, Nimba and Reivercess counties from March to June. As the result of his preaching and teaching, 63 persons got saved and 10 were baptized. Many back- slid rededicated their lives to Christ. Evangelist Yeargar is one of the local evangelists and   pastors supported by the church.

In early April, a two man team headed by the International Director of the Independent Gospel Missions (IGM), Rev. Rex Furman visited the country and was also guest of the church. Both Rev. Furman and Rev. Russ Alexander visited key areas of church ministers including the school, church and the ten acres of donated property on the Robertsfield high way near the town of Smell No Taste. Meanwhile a team of pastors and some official from the IGM will be coming to Liberia in October this year.
