We are again grateful to the Lord for standing by us as we complete the first half of the year. The Lord continues to be good to us as we occupy till He comes. As you can see from our report, our main focus as a church remains the preaching of the gospel. Not only are we reaching out in the community, but also in the Christian day school and in the hinterland. Evangelism and church planting form a substantial portion of our budget for the year. We highly appreciate all of your moral, spiritual, and financial support to the church.

This report covers the period from April to June 2011. It looks at the major activities (mainly evangelistic and church planting) of the church for the last three months and some of the challenges we face.

Baptism

In preparation for the baptism of new converts, more than 20 people completed the class and were awaiting baptism at the end of June.

Evangelism department

During the quarter, the evangelism department continued to reach out mainly to those who visited the church for the first time. The department also counseled those who responded to the altar call.

Fifty-four persons attended the church services for the first time. Thirty-six homes of first-time visitors were visited and some made professions of faith. More than 25 persons were counseled; some were saved, while others made commitments and were baptized.

Starting from the month of August, the department, in collaboration with the departments of the church, will conduct monthly evangelistic outreach in the church community in Sinkor.

During the quarter, more than 200 persons made professions of faith in Christ. Some of the new converts are in baptismal classes in Calvary and in the churches and fellowships supported by the church.

Reports from the Fellowships

Central Baptist Church, Pipeline, Paynesville

At Central Baptist Church on the Pipeline, five persons trusted Christ as Savior and seven persons are presently in baptismal class, while four transferred their membership from other churches.

Repentance Baptist Church, Todee, Montserrado County

During the last four months, Repentance Baptist Church carried out a vigorous evangelism outreach, which led to the salvation of 85 persons. Thirty-five persons rededicated their lives to the Lord. In addition to the church and Bible school ministries, Pastor Elvis Dissee also introduced the Mail Box Bible corresponding course. Both students and other church workers are now taking the course. In April, Repentance Baptist Church and three other Baptist Churches held an Easter conference in which six persons were baptized.

As the rain continues, the new fellowship started by Repentance Baptist Church, which meet under a tree, has nowhere to meet for worship. They are asking us to pray with them for zinc and other building materials to construct church. The church also thanks Calvary Baptist Church for its continued support.

Kadumah Community Baptist Fellowship, Barnesville

The urgent need at Kadumah Fellowship is the improvement of the fellowship. The present mat structure is falling apart, making the place unfit for worship. The leadership is presently discussing the new plan and cost to reconstruct the edifice. Meanwhile, 22 persons made professions of faith. During the quarter, Pastor Gblee also participated in a revival conference held in Magay Town, Suakoko District, and Bong County where he taught. Many people were saved and many others rededicated their lives to the Lord.

New Life Baptist Church, Duport Road

During the quarter, one person trusted the Lord as Lord and Savior. As mentioned in our last report, two persons from Calvary Baptist Church joined us. One of them is very active and doing fine. During the quarter, one of the faithful members, Naomi Willie, died and the church along with family buried the sister.

South Eastern Baptist Missionary Report

Report from Evangelist Alex Roberts from Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County speaks of growth in the new fellowship, which now has more than 20 adults in attendance with many children. A Bible study group has been established in the nearby community as well.

Constraints

Many of those in churches, except Calvary, who promised to support the work in Grand Gedeh, have stopped. This has greatly affected our outreach program.

November Crusade

In our effort to reach the city of Zwedru, we planned to stage a city wide crusade from November 1—19, 2011. We are praying that the Lord will raise the needed support for the crusade.

Prayer Requests

Zwedru is a big city, and as such Evangelist Roberts needs a motor bike to ease the problem of transportation around the city and its environs.

The new fellowship also needs some materials such as zinc and planks to make more benches.

Calvary Baptist Church, Kakata, Margibi County

The attendance at Calvary Baptist Church in Kakata dropped during the second quarter due to the rainy season and vacation. However, the average attendance was 90. Eleven persons accepted Christ, while 13 persons rededicated their lives to the Lord. Seven persons are presently in the baptismal class. The church has a four-day mini soul-winning conference, and 37 persons came to Christ.

Cross Road Baptist Fellowship, King Gray, Paynesville

Services at Cross Road Baptist Fellowship continued during the second quarter. One of the major challenges for the new church is a permanent place of worship. Efforts are still being made to locate a suitable land to purchase. At the same time, 16 persons got saved.

Todee Fellowship

Construction on Todee Fellowship progressed during the quarter with the roofing of the church building. Although the walls have not completed yet, worship services have started in the building.

Evangelist Garmonyou  Yeagar’s Daily Outreach at John F. Kennedy Medical Center

Evangelist Yeagar continued his daily outreach at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center and as the result, many (mainly patients) trusted Christ as Lord and Savior.

Deacon Election

During the quarter, the church elected new deacons. All of the deacons except one were reelected for another three years. Those who were reelected are:

  1. Deacon D. Omaley Year
  2. Deacon Samuel Karr
  3. Deacon Joshua Vaye
  4. Deacon James Sunday
  5. Deacon James Leaman
  6. Deacon Saye J.  Biyie
  7. Deacon Moses Gonleh

Please pray for the following requests:

  1. The completion of the Todee church building
  2. The construction of the Kadumah Fellowship building
  3. Two motor bikes for the two interior evangelists

Plans for the next quarter

As the year comes to an end, we must do all we can in keeping with our yearly plans, to complete the following:

  1. Adoption of the church policy
  2. Completion of the building  plan and fund-raising strategies
  3. Renovation of the Kadumah Baptist Fellowship
