In India, a man is stopped from handing out gospel literature.
In India, churches are being pressured to get government permission to minister.
Prasad Sakile, a pastor with the New Life Regular Baptist Society of Andhra Pradesh, received a notice from his village’s authorities that he needed to get permission to hold services and minister in his community.
But most of the people who attend his church are from lower caste people groups who have the right “to get scholarship and job reservations,” Prasad says. If he submits the names of those people, “they will be converted into high class people who don’t have the reservations opportunity.”
Hindus are the ruling party in India, Prasad points out. He says they are trying to decrease church activities and lower the ratio of Christians in India. They are also encouraging Hindu radical groups to fight against the church.
Prasad pleads with people to pray for the persecution of Christians in India.
He says, “I hope our Lord will give His vision to government officials” and that they will have “a kind manner to Christians in India.”
