The following letter was sent to Christian Wei, founder and president of Christian Way Missions, by ????????, a man involved in his ministry. In China, a “one-child” policy allows only one child per family. ???????? and his wife, ????????, believe this policy is unbiblical and have decided to obey God rather than man. ???????? is now five months pregnant with their second child, whom the government will abort if they discover that she is pregnant. ?????????? and ???????? are hiding in various places.

I would like to thank the love of the members of Christ in the West. This love from our brothers and sisters will provoke me to be even more faithful to serve the Lord in God’s house.

At this moment, ???????? is hiding in her mother’s home. It has been two weeks already. Yesterday the community committee called to ask if ???????? is pregnant. We will go to a new place on Sept. 4. ??????? will hide there for two months and then may go to another province for another month. After that she will go to ????? city for two months and will have the baby there. I have pastored the church in that city for five years and have built a wonderful relationship with the coworkers, so the house church there will receive my wife.

We don’t want to be caught by the government before the baby is born. This is also because the fine money is not easy to prepare. (It is about $30,000 USD.) If we face some government agents who are not tolerant, we may face forced abortion before we get the fine ready. Of course, we trust our God and we have peace in our hearts, and we have no fear in the Lord.

Regarding the ministry, overall we are experiencing another revival. We are leading the worship services and weekday meetings. We focus on visitation and spreading out gospel tracts in the streets. Meanwhile, we are paying attention to the training of young coworkers. Because we are limited by the situation in China, we need young preachers who are capable of handling church planting alone. Thus, we are so busy every day. Of course, for myself, I read many chapters of the Scriptures every day and memorize five to seven verses a day so that I can strengthen my personal devotion.
