Dr. Chatla Devasahayam is president of thIndia_inlinee Indian Christian Bethel Baptist Gospel Fellowship in Nidumolu, South India. He sends the following letter:

We recently concluded a believers’ retreat. The Lord is so good and the weather was very cool and sustained the conference. On Sunday the auditorium was packed with more than three thousand people. People sat outside in the shade and in tents, and more than four thousand people participated in the Lord’s Supper. Praise God for His gracious control.

We are building a new dining hall for conference people, for Bible school students, and for orphan students. We have completed the building up to the basement level. We will have to finish it by the conference that will be held Dec. 27–31.

Special and urgent prayer request: The recent cyclone that hit the coastal belt was very heavy. People died, and millions of people lost their houses and are sheltered in the refugee camps. On that coastal belt in Visakhapatnam and in Avijayanagaram, where we have new church buildings, in the borders of Orissa we have so many churches. The pastors that are in the refugee camps are crying without any help and suffer with no relief even after three days. The death toll: 30 families have been affected in Vizag and more in other cities. Agriculture has suffered a big loss and roads have been damaged.

To provide relief to our people, we need rice, blankets, some kitchen items, groceries, and clothes. Please pray and share so we can meet these urgent needs.
