TRUJILLO, Peru—Training opportunities abound at the Peru Baptist Bible College and Church Association. Four members of that association are involved in teaching at the Baptist seminary of Peru (Seminario Bautista del Peru Apdo). Rene Hurtado and Enoc Principe (director of the association) teach regularly, and Elías Huamán and Segundo Rodriguez helped teach leadership and missions classes. Seven students graduated from the seminary—six Peruvians and one Ecuadorian—and Pastor Lucio Tenazoa received his masters degree in theological studies.

Lay pastors, missionaries, and leaders in three separate locations have taken the course “How to Interpret the Bible.” Twenty-one students in Quillabamba, Cusco, studied the course with Elias Huaman; eight students in Ingenio, Amazonas, took the course with Segundo Rodriguez; and 14 students in Shatoja, Tarapoto, studied the course under Enoc Principe.

Such training opportunities would not exist without the support of churches around the world. Enoc praises the Lord for churches in Peru that provided meals and hospitality and for other churches and individuals that offered prayer support and helped offset travel expenses.

Enoch will soon be preaching at the Youth International Missionary Conference in Lima. Then after a 24-hour bus ride he will join Segundo Rodriguez for a missionary conference in Chachapoyas, Amazonas.

The Peru Baptist Bible College and Church Association is the second South American country to link with the International Partnership of Fundamental Baptist Ministries, having become a partner in 2008.
