Partnership with GARBC
This year marked a milestone for Evangelical Baptist Churches of Rwanda as our application was accepted and welcomed into the International Partnership of Fundamental Baptist Ministries a ministry formed by The General Association of Regular Baptist Churches, USA.
Rev. Emmanuel Ndolimana has been able to get an opportunity of travelling to the USA this summer and attend The GARBC Annual Conference that took place in Schaumburg, IL; where he had a wonderful time of fellowship with the brothers and sisters in Christ. He has been blessed and learned much towards organizing an Annual Conference for the churches in Rwanda. He has been also able to visit GARBC home office, speak to some churches and attend a 1 week retreat for EBM Missionaries.

A few weeks after Rev. Emmanuel returned home, he was able to receive and work with 2 couple missionaries from EBM, Tri-M (Rich and Richelle Howard and Doug and Cheryl Boisvert) who have been all helping mainly with Pastors and Ladies training in Rwanda. Their work is much vital for the church health because 85% of our ministers never got an opportunity of Bible training.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you …” Matthew 28:19-20Jesus Film Changes a village.

On Saturday September 4th we had a baptism in Yanza River in the suburbs of Kigali City where 10 new believers got baptized. On that same day, we send out part of our team to Gitebwe village, in the Eastern part of Rwanda to do a Jesus film show. The following day (Sunday 5th September 2010 we joined the team in Gitembe where we baptized 79 new believers. We were with Tri-M team composed by Rich and Rcihelle Howard and Doug and Cheryl Boisvert. On that same evening, we proceed to a next village called Mugera. This village is known much for heavy drinking of local alcoholic brew called “Urwangwa” made out of bananas. It is a usual custom in that village to find a group of men sitting and drunk as early as 8:00AM instead of working. We begun our outreach 5:00PM in an open air field surrounded by banana plantations.
The choirs sung, and later a simple message of the gospel was preached and the people responded with great joy. Some had come with bottles of alcohol that they begun to throw away, others were smoking pipes and they had to throw them away without the preacher to commend them to do so. They did it as a sign of a u turn from sinful lifestyle and taking up Christianity. That evening 126 people prayed to receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and savior. Among the people who got saved on that day, was one soldier. With the passion to have a church in their village, he gave out his house to be used as a church building for a period of 6 months until the church finds its own building.
