A spur-of-the-moment project that we accomplished in February was helping a church plant in Florida by finding, delivering, mounting, and hooking up display monitors for the PowerPoint system in their new rental space. I read on a missionary’s blog that they were looking for a few 42-inch LCD monitors to use in their new building. The Circuit City near my home (like all other ones) is going out of business, and I happened to be in there looking for tech deals and noticed four monitors with mounts hanging from the ceiling. I discussed them with the liquidator and then called the church planters. This started a weeklong trip to Florida as Amy and I packed up the family and spent our winter break from school helping out. I must say it was not too hard to convince me to travel south. Good thing the missionaries were not in Canada!
